Wood Materials
building, insulation, and finishing materials produced by processing natural wood by pressure at high temperatures, by impregnation with binders (such as synthetic resin), and by cementing. Wood materials have better service characteristics and are less anisotropic than natural wood. Depending on how they are made, wood materials are classified as pressed, impregnated, and laminated wood, wood plastics, and boards. Lumber and timber are sometimes classified as wood materials.
