Woolman, Mary (Raphael) (b. Schenck) (1860–1940) home economist; born in Camden, N.J. She was educated at Columbia University and taught domestic economy at Teachers College, Columbia University (1893–1912). A well-known lecturer and author, she specialized in vocational education and textiles, publishing among other works Textiles: A Handbook for Students and Consumers (1913) and Clothing: Choice, Care, Cost (1920).
