The surface bounding the maximum extent and reach of a robot's wrist, excluding the tool tip. Also known as working profile.

Initially manufactured as a stationary robot, with a circular work area similar to an arm robot, the company has combined this unit with a mobile base to extend the working envelope to virtually any length.
While first generation compensation only corrects pitch error on each axis, ignoring any effect on the perpendicular axes, next generation controls compensate all three axes at every position within the working envelope.
A rail style in-feed device will move the pipes to the working envelope of the robot.
