Workman, Fanny (b. Bullock) (1859–1925) explorer, mountain climber; born in Worcester, Mass. She married William Hunter Workman, a prominent physician (1881). The couple lived in Europe (1889–98) and bicycled through the Mediterranean area and the Middle East. They engaged in exploration, mountain climbing, mapping and photographing in the Himalayan mountains (1899–1912). She lectured extensively and they published many books, including In the Ice World of the Himalaya (1900). How to thank TFD for its existence?
