Citation

(foaled 1945) U.S. Thoroughbred racehorse. In four seasons he won 32 of 45 races, finished second in ten, and third in two. He won the 1948 Triple Crown, and became the first horse to win $1 million. He set a world record in 1950 by running a mile in 1:33 3/5.

While comprehensive historical works such as this must occasionally sacrifice depth for breadth, the brevity of some of the case studies is made bearable by the provision of both a consolidated bibliography and richly annotated lists of works cited.
The key to the works cited in Famous Art was the physical presence of the artist--which this project shared--and endurance, which it didn't (Shelley allowed himself to leave the gallery).
in other words, the network is a social-construction that is obviously too vast to include in a Works Cited page.
