Worksop (wûrk`səp, wûr`–), town (1991 pop. 34,551), Nottinghamshire, central England. Worksop contains a portion of Sherwood Forest. It is a coal-mining center with many industries, including foundries, chemical works, glassworks, and breweries. There are remains of an Augustinian priory founded in 1103.
