CO(C6H4)2O White needle crystals that are found in some plant pigments; insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, chloroform, and benzene; melts at 173°C, sublimes at 350°C; used as a larvicide, as a dye intermediate, and in perfumes and pharmaceuticals.
