Yarra, river, 115 mi (185 km) long, rising in the Great Dividing Range, S Victoria, Australia, and flowing generally westward through Melbourne to Port Phillip Bay. It is important to the water supply of Melbourne. There are recreational facilities along the river.

Batros's (2004) study of the licensed sex industry in the city of Yarra in Victoria, Australia, explored the business operations and marketing strategies used by brothel operators to provide a variety of new and "exotic" women to meet the demand by male clients of the sex industry.
