Yatsushiro

Yatsushiro (yäts`shĭrō), city (1990 pop. 108,135), Kumamoto prefecture, W Kyushu, Japan, on Yatsushiro Bay and the Kuma River estuary. It is a major commercial center and fishing port producing cement, paper, and rayon.
Yatsushiro 

a city and port on the west coast of Kyushu Island, in Kumamoto Prefecture. Population, 102,000 (1970). Yatsushiro is the center of a developing industrial region. It has pulp and paper, cement, and food-processing industries.
