Yazoo RiverRiver, west-central Mississippi, U.S. Formed by the confluence of the Tallahatchie and Yalobusha rivers north of Greenwood, Miss., it meanders 189 mi (304 km) south and southwest to join the Mississippi River above Vicksburg.
