Young, (Denton True) “Cy” (1867–1955) baseball pitcher; born in Gilmore, Ohio. During his 22-year career (1890–1911), mostly with the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox, he won 511 games, the major league record. One of the game's legendary pitchers, the right-hander won 20 or more games for 14 consecutive seasons. An annual award is named in his honor; it is presented to the best pitcher in each league.
