Young, Victor

Young, Victor (1900–1956) composer, conductor, violinist; born in Chicago, Ill. A classically trained violinist, in the 1920s he worked as an orchestra arranger for Ted Fiorito and as a musical director for movie theaters and vaudeville. He became musical director for Brunswick Records in 1931 and in 1935 he moved to Hollywood where for 20 years—as composer, arranger, conductor—he worked on over 225 film scores.
