Youngerman, Jack (1926– ) painter; born in Louisville, Ky. He studied art and lived in Europe (1947–56), returned to New York City, and specialized in ragged-edge abstract paintings, such as Black, Yellow, Red (1964). He was the designer of stage sets for Jean Genet's Deathwatch (1958), created stainless steel sculptures and wooden cut-outs (1971–72) and, beginning in 1982, taught at New York University. |
