Yudenich, Nikolai Nikolayevich

Yudenich, Nikolai Nikolayevich (nyĭkəlī` nyĭkəlī`əvĭch ydyā`nyĭch), 1862–1933, Russian general. He served in the Russo-Japanese War and in World War I and after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 he took command of an anti-Bolshevik army in the Baltic states. In Oct., 1919, with some British support, Yudenich led his army against Petrograd (now St. Petersburg), but he was driven back into Estonia. He died in exile at Paris.
