Yudenich, Nikolai Nikolayevich (nyĭkəlī` nyĭkəlī`əvĭch y dyā`nyĭch), 1862–1933, Russian general. He served in the Russo-Japanese War and in World War I and after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 he took command of an anti-Bolshevik army in the Baltic states. In Oct., 1919, with some British support, Yudenich led his army against Petrograd (now St. Petersburg), but he was driven back into Estonia.
