Zalaegerszeg

Zalaegerszeg 

a city in southwestern Hungary, on the Zala River; the administrative center of the megye (county) of Zala. Population, 39,000 (1970). Zalaegerszeg is a railroad junction. It has an oil refinery and a large garment factory. There are facilities of the machine-building, food (a milk plant, meat plant, and distillery), wood-products, and building-materials industries.

Ferenczi banged in his fourth goal in three games since his surprise arrival from Zalaegerszeg, pouncing on a horror slip by Stoke centre-back Jon Fortune in the 43rd minute.
