Zankovich, Valentin Pavlovich 

Born June 5, 1937, in the village of Priluki, Minsk Raion, Minsk Oblast, Byelorussian SSR. Soviet architect.

Zankovich studied in the Byelorussian Polytechnic Institute in Minsk from 1953 to 1959. He was instrumental in designing the residential area of Minsk and helped design a series of memorials, including To “Katiusha” in Orsha (1966); the memorial park in Rossony, Vitebsk Oblast (1966; Lenin Komsomol Prize, 1967); and the memorial complex Khatyn (1968–69; with the sculptor S.I. Selikhanov and architects lu. M. Gradov and L. M. Levin; Lenin Prize, 1970).
