an urban-type settlement in Murmansk Oblast, RSFSR. Located in the southern part of the oblast, on the lova River, 45 km south of the Niamozero railroad station. It is the site of a lumber and timber distribution establishment and a hydroelectric power plant.

International company Bernhard Schulte Ship Management took on responsibility for maintaining the three bulk carriers - the others are Vyritsa and Zarechensk - after the owner company, Belgium-based bulker operator Sobelmar Antwerp NV, went bankrupt.
