The success of the zinc solvent extraction process at Skorpion proves that the process works on a production scale for the mineralogy of the Skorpion oxide zinc ore, a mixture of the minerals hemimorphite, smithsonite and sauconite, zinc silicates and carbonates. PSX 700 adheres strongly to bare steel, coated steel and surfaces coated with inorganic zinc silicate primers; its 2,700-psi adhesive strength is more than double that offered by conventional epoxy coatings.
