Zippel Bay State Park


Location:On County Road 8, about 18 miles northwest of Baudette.
Facilities:57 drive-in campsites, group camp, showers (é), picnic area (é), picnic shelter (é), volleyball court, hiking trails (9 miles), ski trails (9 miles), skate-ski trails (3 miles), snowmobile trails (5 miles), warming house, swimming beach, fishing pier (é), marina, boat access, visitor center, interpretive exhibits, gift shop.
Activities:Camping, swimming, lake and river fishing, boating, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, bird watching.
Special Features:Park is located on the shores of Lake of the Woods, one of the world's largest lakes. Because of its size, the lake freezes much later than most lakes and remains ice covered much later in the spring. Park includes a two-mile sand beach on the lake shoreline.
