Zolotukhin, Grigorii Sergeevich
Born Nov. 8 (21), 1911, in the village of Srednie Apochki, in what is now Gorshechnoe Raion, Kursk Oblast. Soviet party and state figure. Hero of Socialist Labor (1973). Member of the CPSU since 1939. The son of a peasant, Zolotukhin graduated from the Chakin Agricultural Technicum in 1931 and from the Higher Party School Under the Central Committee of the ACP(B) in 1949. He engaged in economic work from 1931 to 1938. In 1938 and 1939 he was senior agronomist at a machine-tractor station in Tambov Oblast. Zolotukhin began Komsomol and party work in 1939. Zolotukhin served as secretary of the Tambov oblast committee of the CPSU from 1944 to 1946 and from 1949 to 1951, second secretary from 1951 to 1955, and first secretary from 1955 to 1966. From 1966 to 1973 he was first secretary of the Krasnodar Krai Committee of the CPSU. He became minister of farm-produce purchases of the USSR in 1973. A candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU from 1956 to 1966, Zolotukhin was elected a member in 1966. He was a deputy to the fifth through tenth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Zolotukhin has been awarded four Orders of Lenin and various medals. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
