Anusha, Abu Al-Muzaffar Muhammad

 

khan of Khiva Born 1663; died circa 1686.

Son and successor of Khan Abulgazi I, Anusha continued his father’s policy of strengthening the khan’s power. He led a series of devastating raids against the Bukhara Khanate. In 1669 and 1675, Anusha attempted to renew trading and diplomatic relations, broken off earlier, with the Russian state. As a result of a court conspiracy, he was overthrown and blinded.
