Achishkho

 

a mountain range in the Western Caucasus, located in Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. With elevations up to 2,391 m, it is composed of clayey shales and tufaceous rocks. Ancient ice-age relief forms and high-mountain lakes are characteristic. Annual precipitation is high, as much as 3,000 mm. The range is covered with broad-leaved, primarily beech, forests and mountain meadows; there are fir tree forests in the north.
