A Discradisca stella specimen (Inarticulata, Acrotretida) was collected by dredging at a depth of 42-44 m off Omishima Island (Ehime) in the Inland Sea of Japan in April 2012.
Inarticulata comprises 2 orders (Lingulida and Acrotretida): Articulata comprises an additional 2 orders (Rhynchonellida and Terebratulida).
