Aegviidu

 

an urban-type settlement in Khar’iuskii Raion, Estonian SSR. It has a railroad station on the Leningrad-Tallin line. Population in 1968, 1,200. Aegviidu is situated in a picturesque area, which abounds in lakes. A tourist center is located on the shore of Lake Purgatsi. Near Aegviidu is the landscaped forest preserve Aegviidu-Neliiarve.
