Aktas

 

an urban-type settlement in Karaganda Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located 13 km from Karaganda. Population, 18,100 (1968). Industry in Aktas includes coal mining (the Karaganda coal field), a tire overhaul factory, and the production of building materials.
