Aleksandrov, Aleksandr Nikolaevich

 

(pseudonym of A. N. Fedotov). Born Oct. 15, 1901. Soviet circus performer. People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1963).

Aleksandrov has worked in the circus since 1927, appearing as a trick rider and an aerial acrobat. His act based on a demonstration of sharpshooting was very popular, and he created the attraction “Auto Race in the Air.” Since 1939, Aleksandrov has been a wild-animal trainer and has presented acts with groups of leopards and panthers and with Bengal and Ussuri tigers.
