This study provides supportive evidence of the validity of the DIF and DDF subscales of the
Alexithymia Questionnaire for Children, in a Spanish-speaking Latin American population.
Aleksitimi (
alexithymia) kelime anlami olarak Yunanca'da "a: yok, lexis: soz, thymos: duygu" anlamina gelen kelimelerin birlesmesinden meydana gelmis bir kavram olup, Turkce'ye "duygular icin soz, kelime yoklugu" seklinde cevrilmistir.
As such, findings from
alexithymia (TAS-20, 1/2 studies; BVAQ-B, 1 study with no significance found) and physical (PAS, 1/1 study) and social anhedonia (SAS, 1 study with no significance found) are modest and require further studies to explore these traits.
Previous studies indicate a high degree of
alexithymia in medical students [8, 21] and the influence of
alexithymia on mental health [22].
The issue in the ability to recognize and express feelings is generally defined as
alexithymia.10,11 Previously conducted studies report that
alexithymia occurs at a rate of 10% in healthy individuals.12-15
Alexithymia negatively affects the ability of individuals to empathize and makes the experience of communication problems inescapable.10,12,15 In the process of quality and effective communication, individuals' ability of understanding, expressing, and being aware of emotions carries great importance.
Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess different disorders such as impulsivity, eating attitude, and
alexithymia as well as depression and anxiety and to analyze the relationship between psychiatric disorders and disease activity, fatigue, and quality of life in AS patients.
This Questionnaire was used in order to attend limitations observed in other self-informed
alexithymia tests (studies of validity are not available yet).

Alexithymia, not autism, is associated with impaired interoception.
Alexithymia is encouraged by medical education [17] as a part of the "heroic caring stereotype." Once internalized,
alexithymia has long-term consequences, such as psychological distress [18], depression, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization [19,20], as well as a higher risk of psychosomatic symptoms [15], with low chances of recovery.
The study, aimed to investigate temperament and character dimensions along with
alexithymia, showed that PD subjects compared with healthy controls where characterized by lower SD total score, and by higher scores only on HA "fatigability" subscale, which, according to the model of Cloninger (16), is a trait reflecting low energy level depending on personality characteristics.
