Alford loop

Alford loop

An antenna utilizing multielements which usually are contained in the same horizontal plane and adjusted so that the antenna has approximately equal and in-phase currents uniformly distributed along each of its peripheral elements and produces a substantially circular radiation pattern in the plane of polarization; it is known for its purity of polarization.

In this paper, a triband omnidirectional CP cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with a top-loaded modified Alford loop which satisfies 1.9 GHz GSM, 2.4 GHz WLAN, and 3.5 GHz WiMAX applications is proposed.
