Allaikha

 

(in the upper reaches, Elikcheen), river in the Yakut ASSR, left-hand tributary of the Indigirka River. The Allaikha is 563 km long; its basin has an area of 12,400 sq km. It rises on the northern slopes of the Polousnyi Ridge and flows primarily along the Iano-Indigirka lowland. There are many lakes (around 3,700) in the Allaikha basin; 6.2 percent of the basin is covered by lakes. The Allaikha is fed by snow and rainwater.
