Amiradzhan

 

an urban-type settlement on the Azerbaijan SSR; located on the Apsheron Peninsula. Amiradzhan’s railroad station is 16 km northeast of Baku. Its population in 1968 was 16,000. Petroleum is extracted. There are plants for making dry transformers and building materials. There is also a textile factory.
