a late-feudal Georgian fortress-castle dating from the 16th–17th centuries. It is located in the village of the same name, 64 km from Tbilisi. Stone fortress walls with a main quadrangular tower and round towers, two domed temples (a large one, 1689, architect Bakhsarashvili; and a small one), a tower with a pyramidal roof, a belfry, a water tank, and a bathhouse have been preserved.
