Android Pay

Android Pay

Google's second-generation digital wallet payment system. Launched in 2015 after Google's acquisition of the Softcard payments system, Android Pay worked with the four major credit cards as well as debit cards from Bank of America, PNC and others. In 2018, Android Pay merged with Google Wallet (see Google Pay).

In 2015, riders could pay their fare with Android Pay in a Philadelphia taxicab. In 2018, Android Pay became Google Pay.

One of my favourite features is the inclusion of Android Pay, which I use to buy my morning croissant by simply tapping the phone on the card reader.
It can also be added to a young client's smart phone to allow them to make contactless payments via Apple Pay, Android Pay or Samsung Pay.
Apple Pay and Android Pay methods will also now be accepted as part of the development.

Google is completing its transition to the "Google Pay" platform, which will absorb both Android Pay and Google Wallet.
The terminal is capable of securely processing payments of PS5 per transaction when touched with an eligible card or phone with Apple Pay or Android Pay.
With Apple Pay and Android Pay letting users easily, and securely, store cards on their smartphone, the need to have a purse or wallet at all is almost completely removed in favour of the phone.
