In 2009 more than 500 employees were made redundant from the smelting plant due to
Anglesey Aluminium being unable to gain a commercially viable power contract.
A partnership between two energy giants interested in building a new nuclear reactor on
Anglesey has been welcomed by the council.
Helen Gathercole, prosecuting, said: ``Mr
Anglesey's actions caused considerable disruption at the match.
Anglesey council, the Welsh Government and other local stakeholders are taking action to address what has been deemed a "critical situation".
Without demand-side interventions supporting higher quality job opportunities for people to put their skills and training to use, there is a danger that drift towards out-migration and brain drain could continue in regions like
Anglesey.
"It is also a great example of partnership working, with the Welsh Government,
Anglesey County Council, Grwp Llandrillo Menai and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority all contributing to the successful delivery of the scheme.
They want the island to cash in on its natural beauty, watersports, and 125-mile coastal path - and make
Anglesey one of the most visited destinations in Wales.
The 13th Annual
Anglesey Oyster and Welsh Produce Festival will be drawing visitors from miles around with the promise of delicious wares at the Trearddur Bay Hotel.
Conygar chief executive Robert Ware said this plan was happening thanks to a collaboration between them, Welsh Government,
Anglesey council and enterprise zone, and the hotel chain.
