- US-based research and advisory specialist Technavio analysts forecast the global
anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) testing market to grow at a CAGR of more than 7% during the forecast period, according to their latest report, the company said.
This challenge has led to a proposed consensus nomenclature for IIF patterns available on the international consensus of
anti-nuclear antibody pattern (ICAP) website (http://www.ANApatterns.org).
Seroconversion of
anti-nuclear antibody and double stranded deoxyribonucleic acid has been observed in patients exposed to TNF-[alpha] antagonists with an incidence of 25% to 80% and 5% to 15%, respectively.
The
anti-nuclear antibody test was positive at a titre of 1:2 560, as was the anti-U1RNP antibody, and anti-Ro antibody.
The most helpful markers for diagnosing WG are by far
anti-nuclear antibody (ANA), cytoplasmic antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (c-ANCA), and anti-proteinase 3 antibodies (anti-PR3).
The
anti-nuclear antibody was weakly positive at a titer of 1:40, while the anti-smooth muscle antibody, anti-mitochondrial antibody and anti-liver kidney microsomal antibody were all negative.
Laboratory findings in patients with levamisole-induced vasculitis include leukopenia (leukocyte count <4000/[micro]L), neutropenia (neutrophil count <1500/[micro]L), agranulocytosis (neutrophil count <500/[micro]L), elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, normal coagulation studies, and positive autoantibodies including p- and c-ANCAs,
anti-nuclear antibody, and lupus anticoagulant.
High levels of
anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) and anti-neutrophilic cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) and other connective tissue antibodies in patients with autoimmune thyroid disorder and ophthalmopathy support the view that "Graves' disease is a collagen-like disorder." It is controversial whether Graves' disease should be considered as a collagen tissue disease involving the thyroid, muscle tissue, and connective tissue.
Anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) positivity was seen in 80% of the patients.
Studies for c-ANCA, anti-proteinase 3 (PR3), anti-GBM, cryoglobulins, complement levels,
anti-nuclear antibody, rheumatoid factor, hepatitis A, B, and C, and creatinine kinase were normal.
