Regarding the purported sparkle and flowing motions attributed to the glowing spots by Greenacre, one can only marvel at how such behaviour could not simply be written off as effects of atmospheric turbulence when using a magnification of x500 in seeing of only 3 to 4 on the Pickering scale (very poor to poor, corresponding to IV on the
Antoniadi scale).
All surveys were undertaken when the astronomical seeing was I-II on the
Antoniadi Scale.
