Argun Range

Argun’ Range

 

a mountain range in Transbaikalia in Chita Oblast, RSFSR. It is located in the left-bank area of the Argun’ River. Its length is approximately 100 km, and its average altitude is 800–1,000 m (highest point, 1, 122 m). The range is composed of granites and volcanogenic and terrigenous deposits (sandstones, conglomerates, and tufa). Its slopes are largely covered by steppes, which are used as pastures.
