Arkhipo-Osipovka

 

an urban-type settlement in Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. Located on the Black Sea shore, 103 km southeast of Novorossiisk, on the Novorossiisk-Tuapse highway. Population, 5,500 (1968). Industry includes a fruit sovkhoz and fruit processing. There is a sanatorium and two vacation and tourist centers.

The two 24-inch gas export pipelines, El and W2, run from the Beregovaya gas compression station in Russia's Arkhipo-Osipovka, 235 miles across the Black Sea, with a maximum water depth of 2,150 meters, to the Durusu inlet terminal 40 miles from Samsun in Turkey.
