Haplosporidia

parasitic organisms. Some scientists consider Haplosporidia an order of the class Cnidosporidia; others group them with the fungi. Five genera are attributed to Haplosporidia, including about 40 species. Haplosporidia parasitize in the tisues of various invertebrates—Nemertea, segmented worms, crustaceans, insects, mollusks, and others. Haplosporidia form small multinuclear plasmodia in the animal host. Small (5-10 microns) sprores without nematocysts form in these plasmodia. Haplosporidia are found everywhere. Death of animal hosts under the influence of Haplosporidia has not been observed.
