Aulenti, Gai

(1927-)
Italian architect. lighting and interior designer, and industrial designer, She is well known for several large-scale museum projects, including the Contemporary Art Gallery at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the d’Orsay Museum (illus,) also in Paris. The d’Orsay was originally a train station, Gare d’Orsay, and transformed by Aulenti, The museum contains replicas of architectural ornamentation and sculptures on buildings throughout Paris.
