Avogadro's law
[¦a·və¦gäd·drōz ‚lȯ] (physics)
The law which states that under the same conditions of pressure and temperature, equal volumes of all gases contain equal numbers of molecules; for example, 359 cubic feet at 32°F and 1 atmosphere for a perfect gas. Also known as Avogadro's hypothesis.
