Bacilluria
the excretion of bacteria with the urine. Bacteria enter the urine from the blood (in infectious diseases such as typhoid, or in the presence of bacterial foci in the body) and through the lymphatics (for example, in intestinal diseases). Bacteria can pass through the urinary tract without causing pathological changes, but they may cause inflammation. Treatment consists in the removal of the cause of the bacilluria.
