Baltes, Paul B.
(1939– ) psychologist; born in Saarlouis, Germany. Educated in Germany, he came to the United States in 1968 and taught at West Virginia University, then at Pennsylvania State University (1974). His research in life-span developmental psychology and gerontology produced important books and papers, including the three-volume Life-Span Development and Behavior: Advances in Research and Theory, edited with O. G. Brim (1978–80).
