Established: 1978.
Location:12 miles southwest of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Special Features:Located on a northeast slope sheltered from winter winds, the refuge protects a night roosting site for wintering bald eagles. In recent years, as many as 300 bald eagles have used the roost in a single night. Several bald eagle pairs also nest at the site.
Access: Closed to all public entry, except by foot during deer hunting season. From outside the refuge between December and mid-March, early morning visitors can observe large numbers of bald eagles and other raptors.
Wild life: Wintering bald eagles.
