Berhanu Denke

 

Year of birth unknown. Ethiopian Amharic-language writer.

Berhanu Denke published his first works in 1944. His major works are devoted to the difficult years of the Italian occupation of Ethiopia (1936–41): A Short History of Five Years of Suffering (1944), A Sermon to the Children (1946), A Short History of Ethiopia (1948), and From Wal Wal to Mai Chio (1949), a history of the Italian invasion. He has also written a play in verse, Queen Saba (1951).
