Berry, Sara S.

Berry, Sara S. (Sweezy)

(1940–  ) economist; born in Washington, D.C. A University of Michigan Ph.D., she taught at Indiana and Boston Universities before joining the Johns Hopkins history faculty (1990). Her works on the economics of development and on property rights and natural resources in western Africa include Cocoa, Custom and Socioeconomic Change in Rural Western Nigeria (1975) and Fathers Work for their Sons (1985).
