Bluemner, Oscar
Bluemner, Oscar
(1867–1938) painter, architect; born in Hanover, Germany. He emigrated to America in 1892. A practicing architect (1894–1912), he later devoted his life to painting. His highly individual coloration and his cubist landscapes, using geometric forms, became his trademarks, as may be seen in Old Canal Port (1914), and Composition (1931).
