Bok, Derek (Curtis)
(1930– ) university president; born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. He taught labor and antitrust law at Harvard Law School, where he was also a reformist dean (1968–71), before becoming president of Harvard University (1971–90). Bok's books include Beyond the Ivory Tower (1982), Higher Learning (1986) and Universities and the Future of America (1990).
