Bollinger Mill State Historic Site
Location:On Highway HH in Cape Girardeau County.
Facilities:Picnic sites.
Activities:Guided historical tours, interpretive programs.
Special Features:The location of grain milling for almost 200 years, the present
four-story stone and brick gristmill and 140-foot covered bridge were
completed around 1867. Visitors to the mill can still observe corn
being ground into meal by water power. The Burfordville Covered Bridge,
which crosses the river that powers the mill, is the oldest of only
four covered bridges remaining in the state.
