Any method of halting the processing of a transaction and holding it, as far as it has been completed, until processing resumes.

A code that is inserted at a particular place in a document or that is associated with a particular document so that the user can easily return to the specified insertion point or document.

A Web page location (URL) which is saved by a user for quick reference.

bookmark

(World-Wide Web)

A user's reference to a document on the World-Wide Web or other hypermedia system, usually in the form of a URL and a title or comment string.

Most World-Wide Web and Gopher browsers can save and load a file of bookmarks to allow you to quickly locate documents to which you want to refer again.

A stored location for quick retrieval at a later date. Web browsers provide bookmarks that contain the addresses (URLs) of favorite sites.
