Bradshaw, John

(1933–  ) counselor, lecturer, author; born in Houston, Texas. He studied for the Roman Catholic priesthood (1955–63) but left the seminary to become a high school teacher, then a counselor. He became well known in 1986 through the Public Broadcasting System series "Bradshaw On—The Family" and the book of the same title. His concept of reparenting one's "inner child" traumatized by dysfunctional family relationships won him a wide following.
